There’s a lot of cash to be won this week DraftKings including a top prize of $30k from the main tournament. DK also has a lot of Qualifier contests available this week, in which the final event will pay $50k to 1st if you did qualify to play in it. I’ll be pursuing those as well because we have never had a $50k 1st place prize and I want it. I really do think we have a fun card that Saturday and I am ready to enter this 3-week break using a winning night in UFC 227. Here are a few plays I like this weekend together with my fade of the week.
Cash Game play of this week — Demetrious Johnson ($9,400)
Demetrious Johnson is the most powerful play in most DFS MMA and he’s the maximum ceiling as well. DJ is your P4P best fight on earth (not counting Jon Jones) and he has beat Cejudo once before. This is the first person I am plugging into my money LU this week and I suggest you do the same. DJ is almost guaranteed to score at 100-points at a win, and he has a -550 betting line stating he must find the win here. Play it safe and use DJ in cash. You can stack this fight also, however I think DJ is essential.
GPP drama of this week — Thiago Santos ($9,200)
This is a great struggle to goal this week since it probably won’t visit a choice. Holland just fought on the Contender Series a few weeks ago and did not receive a contract. But today he’s on the PPV against one of the most bizarre strikers in the branch. The ITD lineup for Santos is currently -210 and the below 1.5 rounds gambling line is -160. That tells me Vegas thinks this fight ends early and Santos is the guy that should pick up the finish. At $9.2k, he easily pays that cost off in a 1st round win and I think he has a good shot at doing exactly that. I really don’t care for him in money game formats though because both guys have quite low flooring, so this really is a GPP only play for me.
Underdog drama of this week — Brett Johns ($7,400)
I think everybody is composing Brett Johns following his loss to Aljo Sterling and that is exactly why he’s so cheap on DraftKings this weekend. Together with the wrestling style Johns brings to the table, he has 100+ upside even in a decision win. Obviously, we are worried about him becoming caught in a guillotine if he shoots for takedowns, but when he can avoid that I think he can win this fight and 10x his wages with a triumph. I really don’t think Johns will wish to hit with Munhoz to get 15-minutes so I do believe he is going to be shooting for takedowns. Those takedowns could get him submitted, or they may get him a triumph on the scorecards. But that makes him a boom or bust play and that’s why he’s a good underdog to select in GPPs this week.
Fade of this week — Danielle Taylor ($7,500)
Even at an affordable $7.5k on DraftKings, Taylor will still need a end to cover that price label off with her style. She has the worst style potential for scoring DraftKings point and even if she gets a triumph here she could wind up scoring significantly less than some losers on the card. Taylor will be the least possessed fighter in GPPs this week, so in the event that you would like to invest your cash on a 115 lb lady using a”punchers chance” of winning you a GPP, then you’ll be quite contrarian taking that path. But I don’t have any interest in investing my money into that I will have Taylor in 0 of my lineups this week. If I had been making 150 lineups, I’d still full fade Taylor here.

Kyle Busch has a opportunity to win more this week and one needs look no further than the odds to describe why.

The 33-year-old motorist is a 2/1 favorite to win the Toyota Owners 400, which are the odds any driver has had to acquire a race this year.

It’s for good reason. He has not won a Cup-Series top few times this season, but he is coming off of a victory and has six career wins at Richmond Raceway and has finished in the top 10 in six of the previous seven races there. And oh yeah, he won both races.

Those two drivers have combined to win five races in Richmond and have a fantastic opportunity to maintain Busch out of victory lane this past week.

We’re going to take Logano to win his second race of the season and career event at Richmond coming off of a third-place finish .

UFC 219 is set to take place this Saturday night (Dec. 30) in Las Vegas, Nevada, and let us just say that it doesn’t scream”caliber” like previous end-of-year UFC cards.
Normally the UFC stacks its final card of this year from top to bottom. Instead, in 2017, we get a main event between Cris Cyborg and Holly Holm. While it has the capability to become a great fight, it does not necessarily scream”purchase this pay-per-view!”
This is also a very hard card to bet on since there are not a lot of fights that you can get a strong read on. Many of the favorites, like Cyborg and Khabib Nurmagomedov, deserve to become overwhelming favorites, yet might also readily get merked with their opponents. Danger lurks.
Nevertheless, we need to generate some plays. So let us do the best we can to come across some golden underdogs, a few worthy props, and a lucrative parlay.
