The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Dallas, TX for the fifth time in promotional history last Saturday (May 13, 2017) using UFC 211: Miocic vs. Dos Santos II. Aguilar came up short on the judges’ scorecards last weekend, losing a unanimous decision to Cortney Casey. She is now on a streak and winless at the UFC. At this point, I think that it is 50/50 as to whether the advertising lets her go back into Fighting, or potentially Bellator’s World Series or attracts her back for another fight. My guess is that she will find another shot in a UFC win, but that I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see that her served along with her papers.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Virtually all the stats are ugly to the Bulls. They have lost eight straight and they are up on your way. Chicago is 3-7 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game and 3-11-1 ATS in the past 15 against teams from the NBA Pacific Division. The Bulls are 1-4 ATS in their last five matches against the Western Conference.
The Lakers have been 14-9 straight up in your home but have coated in only nine of these matches. They are 4-10 ATS in non-conference games and 7-16 ATS when facing a team with a losing record. That’s ugly.
Chicago Bulls
The Bulls have dropped all the last seven, giving up at least 117 points in four of those games. This group has a listless defence that cannot stop anyone. Even though they allow 111.0 points per game on the season (17th), they’ve allowed an average of 126.7 in their past three. That comes with a beat down in the hands of the Golden State Warriors, who also scored 146 points from this group.
The Bulls have looked utterly lost since trainer Jim Boylen took over the group from recently fired head coach Fred Hoiberg. The players don’t like his style and also have had run-ins with him. Oddly enough, although the front office gave Boylen an expansion and a rise. The group is just 5-14 under Boylen.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers are without LeBron James right now but they can’t pin all of their problems on his absence. They had been 17-10 at one stage this year and are just 6-13 since. He’s been out since Christmas Day but the Lakers decline started while he was still there. This group has dropped five of their last seven and seven of 10.
The Lakers offence has disappeared without James in the lineup as they’re averaging just 107.3 points per game over their last 15 contests (23rd at the NBA). That’s a massive dip in the 121.0 they dropped in October (third in the NBA).
The issue is that this can be a very disjointed roster and players aren’t developing. Kyle Kuzma is playing great but Lonzo Ball is contributing just 9.4 points per game while shooting 36.2percent from the area this month. JaVale McGee averaged 15.5 points per game in October but is down to only 8.4 in January. And Brandon Ingram remains a bit inconsistent as he has scored 17 or more four times this month but scored 15 or less in another three games. Insert in that Josh Hart has just 17 points in total in the previous three games and lots of the fingers start pointing towards Walton that he can not develop the young players on this roster. The fantastic news is that the Bulls are a larger mess and the Lakers must take care of business in this area.

And here are my first thoughts on the Bellator Newcastle opening lines:
Like most Bellator cards, this one is full of big favorites. The majority of them should win, including Pitbull at the main event against Scope. The big different here is obviously the experience and degree of competition faced. Pitbull has been one of the best lightweights in Bellator for decades (and most likely among the very underrated lightweights from the game ) while Scope is a Bellator newcomer who has not fought anyone of note, save to get a split decision win over former UFC fighter Mickel Lebout in his final bout. Scope has actually been involved in the game as a teenager, however, has never really made it big, while Pitbull is still one of the best lightweights in Bellator. I expect Pitbull to receive his hands raised and he will be a popular parlay piece amongst bettors.
I am not entirely sold on Chalmers and that I would not be surprised if Browning pulled off yet another upset. Chalmers has four first-round endings, however, the former reality TV celebrity in England has been receiving easy matchups by the matchmakers. Browning was not supposed to be aggressive against Baby Slice in his Bellator debut, but he ended up finishing Kevin Ferguson Jr. by knockout in one of the greatest upsets of 2018 in MMA. I believe Browning is probably somewhat better than many of us think he is, and I would not be surprised at all if he’s the upset here. As far as I’m concerned, this can be a dog-or-pass circumstance.
Brazier is creating his Bellator using a whole lot of hype as an former BAMMA winner. He’s won his last nine fights and hasn’t tasted defeat since a 2015 knockout loss which was his lone career defeat. Bungard has a nice amount of experience about the European regional circuit and is a decent gatekeeper type of fighter, but that is clearly Bellator looking to match up Brazier using a guy who he can beat in his promotional debut. Much like Pitbull, I anticipate Brazier to acquire this battle handily and expect him to be a favorite parlay piece as well.
Like Pitbull and Brazier, Edwards looks like he will be a favorite chalk bit too. The brother of this UFC’s Leon is just 5-0 and he is only 25, meaning he’s a bright MMA career before him. Chadwick is a veteran of 40 fights and has fought a lot of England’s top boxers, but he has been finished nine times, including four knockout losses, and this seems like another fight at which the heavy favorite should glow. I would definitely keep your eye out for the Edwards within the distance props, but he’s another man to think about putting into a Bellator chalk parlay.
