Angels Breath Seems to have a bright future after Creating a triumphant debut over Novices Chase at Ascot Racing.
The Nicky Henderson-trained five-year-old made it two wins out of many visits after adding for his Grade 2 victory over challenges on his very first start under rules with a huge success success.
Tracking ancient pacesetter First Flow for a lot of the race, the nicely supported 5-4 favourite moved into the direct before exercising an amazing winner, jumping the last.
Henderson stated:He had been slick wasnt that he, as he isnt the biggest. The amusing thing is that he gave us of the impression last season he wanted floor.
Nico (De Boinville) said he could not believe it how he went down into the soft ground as we dont do soft ground in the home and that he absolutely loved it.
It turned out to be a proper gallop and Birchdale (stablemate) could not go with them. They have gone a pace taking into consideration the floor although I didnt think that they would outpace Birchdale like this.
He has had a good blow and he will come on a fair bit for this. He has been great in the home. The one lovely thing about that race is you are skipping up six fences hill and theyre lovely fences to begin with to get a novice.
Assessing future goals for Angels Breath, that had been cut to 8-1 for your JLT and 10-1 for the Arkle by Paddy Power, the Seven Barrows handler suggested he would return to the route for the Grade 2 Noel Novices Chase next month.
He added:Id be hanging around at two and half (miles) for now Id think. This (Noel Novices Chase) is probably the obvious one but Ive never believed about pre-planning yet.
