Galway have been on the watch for a new senior football manager after the resignation of Kevin Walsh on Tuesday.
He former Sligo manager accountable for the Tribesmen for five seasons, overseeing progress. The Westerners achieved Division 1 position picked up two Connacht names and consolidated that position.
They bridged a gap by picking up a championship win in Croke Park last summer and attaining an All-Ireland semi-final.
They had been not able to achieve this year to the Super 8s after also a qualifier defeat to Mayo and a final loss to Roscommon.
